Participants in the 13th National Defence Course visit the Federal National Council

The National Defence College, as part of its efforts to promote political culture and national awareness among its members of the 13th session 2025-2026, organized an introductory visit to the headquarters of the Federal National Council on Monday, September 22, 2025. The aim was to gain a closer understanding of the nature of the Council's work and its legislative, supervisory, political and diplomatic functions and powers.
During the visit, the delegation from the National Defence College, headed by Brigadier General Dhawi Al Kaabi, listened to a comprehensive introductory briefing presented by the Council's working group on its establishment and development since its founding in 1972, its role in supporting the Union's progress and enhancing citizen participation in decision-making, as well as the working mechanisms of its members and standing committees that discuss laws and follow up on national issues.

Afterwards, a group photo was taken of the National Defence College delegation, and the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts. This was followed by an introductory tour of the Sheikh Zayed Hall, which contained photographs and artifacts documenting the Council's journey from its inception to the present day.

At the end of the visit, officials at the Federal National Council emphasized that such exchanges between national bodies and institutions are part of a process of rapprochement and learning about the roles played by other entities. He explained that the Council's policy aims to raise parliamentary awareness among the nation's youth and familiarize them with the mechanisms of political participation, thereby strengthening national belonging and embodying the vision of the wise leadership in involving various segments of society in the development process.

For their part, the participants in the 13th National Defence Course 2025-2026 expressed their delight at visiting the Federal National Council and learning firsthand about the role of the Council, which is one of the most important institutions of the constitutional state.
