National Defence College hosts His Excellency Minister of State in lecture on UAE policy and strategy for international relations and cooperation
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, the National Defence College hosted His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, to deliver a lecture entitled “The UAE's Policy and Strategy for International Relations and Cooperation” in the presence of the college commander's advisors, faculty members, and students from the 13th National Defence Course at the college headquarters.
At the beginning of his lecture, His Excellency explained that the UAE's foreign policy is based on the fundamental national objectives of the 50 principles set by the wise leadership. His Excellency pointed out the most important of these, which are to continue to strengthen the foundations and pillars of the state, developing the national economy to be one of the strongest competitive economies in the world, and human development, represented by the human element, which is the fundamental pillar of development in various fields.
His Excellency explained that the UAE's foreign policy is characterized by openness to the world and building strategic partnerships in various fields. He noted that this policy operates within an international and regional environment full of challenges and changes, which require the development of countermeasures and policies represented in building the nation through strengthening the security system and the state's control over all its territories and institutions.
His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, also referred to the environment in which the country's foreign policy operates, noting that it is an environment characterized by turmoil. The wise leadership, through its efforts to establish international partnerships and build multilateral relations, works to bridge the gap between other parties to the conflict, as it believes that supporting local, regional, and global stability and peace is essential to achieving development and prosperity for all parties and peoples.
The lecture was followed by an open discussion during which His Excellency answered questions from students of the National Defence Course.
